Brigit is currently Strategy Principal at the UK AI Security Institute (AISI), where for the past two years she has worked with the executive team on strategy and delivery as the institute scaled at pace from dozens to hundreds of staff. That work has centered on what makes AISI distinct: an organisation operating at startup pace, on one of the defining challenges of our time, while carrying the accountabilities of government. Working across policy, technical research, and operational teams, she has played a central role in developing AISI's priorities and ensuring they are backed by the organisational structure to deliver them.
Throughout her career, Brigit has worked at the intersection of technology, research, policy, and economic development, helping build the organisational infrastructure and strategy that enable diverse professions to work together on complex issues. Leading up to her role at AISI, Brigit’s work has spanned continents and sectors, from road safety in East Africa to a $100M+ public-private cybersecurity programme she helped launch for New York City. She has also built from the ground up, co-founding and chairing Second Day: a non-profit that builds talent pipelines into the social impact sector.
Brigit studied cultural studies and economic development at Georgetown's School of Foreign Service, and later took dual master's degrees in public policy and business at Oxford.
Her work is driven by a conviction that our hardest social and technical challenges are deeply intertwined, and that meeting them takes multidisciplinary effort, bringing different kinds of expertise into the same room to help society navigate what lies ahead.
We are confident that Brigit’s strategic background, ethos, and dedication to building a strong, highly skilled team will be invaluable as the field of cooperative AI gains momentum and the Foundation enters its next chapter.
