Audrey Tang joins board of trustees

CAIF is delighted to welcome Taiwan’s Cyber Ambassador & 1st Digital Minister Audrey Tang to our board of trustees. This is an exciting opportunity to broaden the societal impact of our research activities as a foundation, and explore research avenues.

CAIF is delighted to announce the appointment of Audrey Tang to our board of trustees. As Taiwan’s Cyber Ambassador and first Digital Minister (2016-2024), Audrey brings extensive experience promoting technology for the common good.

Audrey’s work as Digital Minister saw her play an instrumental role in building Join.gov.tw, a participatory governance system that led to practical improvements such as enhanced access to tax software and revised cancer treatment regulations.

In Audrey’s current role as Taiwan’s Cyber Ambassador, she advises on international cooperation and exchanges related to digital governance, development and applications. Audrey also strives to strengthen connections within the international democratic network.

Extensive reach and a wealth of hands-on experience make Audrey an extremely valuable addition to CAIF. In particular, her involvement demonstrates how Taiwan can help deepen connections between our academic research on fostering the cooperative intelligence of advanced AI systems and what this means for real-world applications. This is an exciting opportunity to broaden the societal impact of our activities as a foundation.

Additionally, Audrey’s focus on ⿻ Plurality, using technology to enhance collaboration across social differences, will help guide CAIF’s research avenues and support one of our main aims: building AI systems that can improve our collective ability to overcome cooperative challenges.
